Paul Jacobs

Paul Jacobs is the Vice President/General Manager of Jacobs Media, which for forty years has provided programming, digital, sales, and social media consulting to commercial, Christian, and public radio stations, including stations owned by Beasley, Hubbard, NPR, PRI, and many Public Radio stations. 

In a career in broadcasting and consulting that spans four decades, Jacobs began his career on the sales side of the business and WNIC and WRIF in Detroit, ultimately serving as a General Manager at radio stations in Dallas and Detroit before joining Jacobs Media in 1991.

In 2008, Jacobs also became the President of a startup mobile application development company – jacapps.  The company is one of the largest mobile application developers with over 1,300 apps developed worldwide.

Paul has been a tireless advocate for the industry, working with the automotive industry to insure radio’s place in the car today and in the future, the industry’s digital transformation, and future prospects for revenue generation.

Paul has served as Board Chair of Greater Public, which serves public radio and television stations, and is the past Board Chair of the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Foundation.

He was inducted into the Michigan Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2016, received the Rockwell Lifetime Achievement Award from The Conclave in 2019, and was awarded the Outstanding Alumni award from Michigan State University’s ComArtSci Department in 2021.

In 2022, Paul and his brother, Fred received the National Radio Award, the highest honor in the industry from the Nattional Association of Broadcasters.

Pat Bryson

Pat Bryson is the owner of Bryson Broadcasting International, a consulting firm that specializes in training and coaching radio salespeople and managers in Europe, Canada, Australia, Central Asia and the United States. Her work in Europe has included Poland, Albania, Ukraine, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Malta, Romania and Bulgaria. Her radio career has included on-air, sales, sales manager and general manager of stations.

She has a degree in Communications from the University of Tulsa, a management degree from Oral Roberts University, and continuing studies at Georgetown University. She was the recipient of two prestigious scholarships from the National Association of Broadcasters: The Executive Development program and The Broadcast Leadership Training program.

She has been a featured speaker at Radiodays Ireland, Radiodays Sweden, Radiodays Denmark, Radiodays Asia, Radiodays Munich, EGTA, Radio Conference Poland, Krakfilm Festival, Australian National Radio Convention, Ontario Broadcasters Association, Christian Music Broadcaster’s Convention, Gospel Music Association of Canada, Asia Pacific Broadcast Union, and the National Association of Broadcasters in the United States as well as state broadcast associations throughout the U.S.

She is the author of “A Road Map to Success in High-Dollar Broadcast Sales” and a new book, “Successful Broadcast Sales: Thriving in Change” available on her website. Her sales articles have been published in radio broadcast newsletters in Australia, Poland and Brazil and she is a regular columnist in Radio Ink and Small Market Newsletter.

She has four times been named to Radio Ink Magazine’s Most Influential Women in Radio.

Jessica Nyman

Jessica Nyman is a Partner with Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP’s Washington, DC-based Communications group, working out of Pillsbury’s Austin, TX office.   Her practice focuses on communications regulatory, litigation and transactional matters.  In addition to advising on regulatory compliance issues and filings, Jessica has represented clients in a wide array of litigation before the Federal Communications Commission, the Department of Labor, the Copyright Royalty Board, and state and federal courts. She has also represented clients in a variety of transactions, including retransmission consent negotiations, mergers and acquisitions, ATSC 3.0 hosting and spectrum usage agreements, and information technology outsourcing transactions.  Jessica is a regular contributor to CommLawCenter.com, Pillsbury’s one-stop resource center for communications law matters.

Howard Fine

Howard Fine has been involved in FCC Part 74 issues since 1980 and has served at the frequency coordinator in Los Angeles since 1980 as well as at multiple Political Conventions and Super Bowls.

He is currently President of Fine Satellites & Fiber, LLC where he handles live transmissions of special events and medical conferences. He is also the on-site frequency coordinator at two of Los Angeles stadiums; SoFi for the NFL and BMO for LAFC and ACFC soccer matches.

Bobby Jenkins

Bobby Jenkins is the owner of ABC Home & Commercial Services ‘With offices in Austin, San Antonio, College Station, Corpus Christi and the Rio Grande Valley. ABC employs over 1,000 people and offers a wide variety of services including pest and termite control; lawn care and mowing; landscaping and irrigation; tree trimming and care; air conditioning and heating; plumbing and electrical; pool cleaning and repair; gutter, power washing, and window cleaning; handyman services; appliance repair; and water quality. Bobby is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in business management.

Bobby is a past chair of the Austin Chamber of Commerce and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board; he is the current chair of Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority and chair-elect of the Association of Former Students at Texas A&M University. He is a past president of both the Texas and National Pest Management Associations and the current chair of the Professional Pest Management Alliance. Bobby currently serves on the executive committee of the Texas Business Leadership Council and is a past chair and current board member of the Better Business Bureau, Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse and Alzheimer’s Texas . He is a current board member for the American Heart Association, the United Way, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Foundation, and the E3 Alliance. He is co-founder and board chair of Recognize Good and currently serves on the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce executive committee chairing Austin Gives. Bobby is a board member of the Moss Pieratt Foundation, the Friends of the ABC Kite Festival and current chair of the Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood Foundation.

Bobby is an avid sports enthusiast who loves to play tennis and golf and enjoys running and cycling. Most of all he loves watching Texas A&M sports.

Bobby has been married to his wife, Jan, for 40 years and they have three children; Jessica Pieratt, Chelsea Myers, and Bo. He and Jan have 5 wonderful grandchildren.

Daniel Anstandig

Rusty Mooney

Rusty Mooney is a graduate of the University of Arkansas Little Rock, and a retired Navy officer.  His broadcasting career has spanned three decades.  His career began at an independent television station in Little Rock, Arkansas and he has worked for companies including Clear Channel Television, Newport Television, and Screen Service America.  He founded Baseline RF Telecom Service to provide a wide range of broadcast engineering services.  He has also worked for two telephone companies, providing microwave and fiber optic transport engineering, and VoIP operations.  He is currently the Director of Television Transmission Systems at Sinclair Broadcast Group, where he developed a curriculum for teaching basic RF theory and transmitter maintenance and operation for SBG employees.

Bob Stroupe

Bob Stroupe began his broadcast career in 1973 at Mississippi’s first NPR affiliate, WNJC, in Senatobia.  In 1974, while a junior in high school, Bob was hired to do afternoons at WSAO in Senatobia.  Bob eventually became the chief engineer at WSAO after acquiring his First Class Radio Telephone license in 1975.

In 1976 Bob relocated to Greenwood, MS where he was a staff engineer at WABG-TV & AM. 

In 1978, while attending Mississippi State University, Bob was the morning host and Chief Engineer at WSSO-AM/WSMU-FM in Starkville, Mississippi.  Bob also did contract engineering work while in that area including serving as the Chief Engineer at WHKW-FM, Fayette, Alabama. 

After Mississippi State, Bob relocated to Pensacola, FL in 1982 where he was Chief Engineer at WOWW-FM.  At WOWW, Bob designed and constructed a new transmitter facility which included a 1400 foot tower.  Bob also did a considerable amount of contract engineering work in both radio & TV, including construction of several AM directional antennas while in the Florida panhandle.

In 1990, Bob finally made it to Texas when he became Chief Engineer at Gannett’s KKBQ AM and FM in Houston which had a CHR format.  Bob was honored to work with such Houston Hall of Fame inductees as John Lander and Ron Parker.  During 1991, Gannett changed the format of KKBQ to Country.  Bob then helped KKBQ to become the number 1 ranked Country station in Houston while working with Texas Radio Hall of Fame inductees, Pam Ivey, Cactus Jack Talley, and Sean O’Neal. While at KKBQ Bob designed and constructed three mobile broadcast studios and spent many hours in the mobile studios engineering live broadcasts. 

In 1998, Gannett sold KKBQ to Chancellor Media and Bob became the Director of Engineering for all Chancellor stations in Houston. In 2000, Clear Channel purchased all Chancellor stations in Houston and Bob remained with Clear Channel (now iHeartMedia) as the local Director of Engineering.  In 2004 Bob designed and constructed a 26 studio complex that consolidated eight stations into one facility. 

Bob is presently the Regional Engineering Manager for iHeartMedia in Houston. He holds an FCC General Class Radiotelephone License and holds a Certified Senior Radio Engineer, AM Directional Specialist, and Certified Broadcast Networking Technologist certifications from the Society of Broadcast Engineers. 

Bob is the 2023 winner of the Steve Schott Award at the Texas Engineers Dinner during the 2023 Texas Association of Broadcasters convention.
