Pat Moore

Pat Moore is the President of Broadcast Construction Solutions.

He began his career in the tower industry in 1976 and has since played a vital role in every facet of tower construction, maintenance, and safety.

Early in his career, he co-founded a tower company that became a leader in the industry, known for building and maintaining some of the tallest man-made structures in the world. That company later merged with SpectraSite, forming one of the largest tower erection and maintenance teams in the industry’s history.

A driving force during the digital television transition of 2000, Pat successfully managed large-scale, complex projects that set new benchmarks for the broadcast sector.

He is a founding member of the National Association of Tower Erectors (NATE) and an original member of its Safety and Education Committee.

Pat helped lead the development of the ANSI/ASSP A10.48-2016 Safety Standard and he was honored with NATE’s “Distinguished Service Award” and the “Bill Carlson Lifetime Service Award” for his lasting contributions to the industry.

In addition to serving on the National Wireless Safety Alliance (NWSA) Board of Governors, Pat has been a long-standing member of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), where he has remained active for more than 28 years.

Pat’s  commitment to safety and professional standards is further demonstrated by his involvement with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Steel Erection Negotiated Rulemaking Advisory Committee (SENRAC), where he served from 1994 to 1997. He also contributed to the ANSI TR14.7 Committee for Tower Design and participated in the Safety Facilities Task Group.

Throughout his career, Pat has maintained active memberships in the National Society of Broadcast Engineers, the Texas Association of Broadcasters, and the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), formerly known as the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE).

Pat’s leadership and lifelong dedication continue to shape the communications infrastructure industry and promote the highest standards of safety and excellence.

Matt Leland

Matt Leland, Vice President of Sales for Burk Technology is a broadcast industry veteran with over 40 years of experience in design, manufacturing, and sales of antennas, RF systems, towers, related equipment and services for broadcasters.  Other experience includes RF and microwave design applications, radar components, and industrial RF heating products. 

Career highlights include 19 years as Radio Product Line Manager of Dielectric Communications as well as key positions at Shively Labs, and Microwave Techniques Inc. in management and product design capacities.  

  Currently, employed by Burk Technology, the leading provider of broadcast site monitoring and remote-control systems, Matt draws from his experience, collaborating with engineers on specifications for remote monitoring and control systems of broadcast transmission site and network applications.

Davina regularly represents clients in written and oral advocacy before the Commission and in federal appellate courts.

Carlos Tovias

Carlos Tovías Durán, MBA, is Regional Program Director at Salem Media Group and a Spanish-language radio consultant with more than 30 years of experience in the U.S. Hispanic media landscape. He currently oversees programming for multiple markets, including the flagship station 93.1 El Rey (KRYP-FM) in Portland, Oregon, where he has led audience growth and format innovation.

Carlos is widely regarded for his strategic approach to content development, audience engagement, and brand positioning across Regional Mexican, Tejano, Spanish AC, and bilingual formats. In 2022, he was honored with the Medalla de Cortez for Program Director of the Year, a national recognition of excellence in Spanish-language broadcasting.

He remains committed to advancing culturally relevant programming and developing the next generation of Latino radio professionals.

Jimmy Gonzalez

JD “Jimmy” Gonzalez, EMBA, is a veteran radio executive with over four decades of experience shaping Hispanic formats across the U.S.

He has served as Senior Vice President of Programming for Univision Radio, Senior Vice President of Spanish Programming for CBS Radio, and currently holds the role of Senior Vice President of Spanish Programming for Audacy, overseeing Spanish-language content nationwide.

JD has programmed iconic stations across Texas including KZFM (Z95), K99, KBFM (B104), KXTN, 98.5 The Beat, KLOL Mega 101, and KMVK La Grande 107.5.

In 2016, he launched Fierro HD on the HD Radio band in Houston and Dallas — now one of Audacy’s most streamed Spanish formats — and returned to the airwaves co-hosting mornings with Jonny Ramirez.

In 2024, JD received the Medalla de Cortez Award for Marketer of the Year, honoring his impact and innovation in Hispanic media.

Derron Steenbergen

Derron Steenbergen is the President and Founder of the Swagger Institute. 

The Swagger Institute specializes in customer service training, sales and leadership training, motivational speaking and business and nonprofit consulting. 

He is a founder and partner of the Ten Minute Trainer Network, one of the nation’s leading online training platforms. 

Derron also spent over 30 years as the Chief Revenue Officer of Commonwealth Broadcasting Corporation. Steenbergen has decades of broadcast sales experience, beginning as a local direct rep and advancing through the ranks of sales management.

His years training sales people led to the formation of Swagger. 

Recently, Steenbergen saw a need to incorporate and adapt his sales expertise into winning strategies for the nonprofit arena, and formed Golden Rule Fundraising, the nonprofit division of Swagger Institute.

Steenbergen enjoys teaching simple steps that can help businesses and employees make more magic in their careers. 

His high energy, audience involved seminars are making huge impacts with people across the country, both in person and virtually. 

Steenbergen has recently been called “the most relatable sales guy in the country,” and “the modern day Zig Ziglar.”

He is also the past chair of the Kentucky Broadcasters Association where he served several years on the KBA board. 

He is active with many civic organizations throughout South Central Kentucky.   Derron also volunteers his time as a certified high school golf coach, serving as an assistant under the head coach, his oldest daughter Logan. 

Steenbergen is a graduate of Western Kentucky University, married to Krista Steenbergen and has three daughters, Logan, Lyn Dawsyn and Landry. 

When he is not working, Derron enjoys relaxing with a good cigar.

Oh, and he’s a certified American Bald Eagle Watcher!

Tony Peterle

Tony Peterle’s journey in broadcasting began in high school with a live, 15-minute weekly news program on his local AM radio station—a spark that ignited a lifelong career. From becoming Chief Engineer at his college radio station to serving in various roles on-air and in engineering, Tony has remained at the heart of the broadcast industry.

His career has included years spent in the skies, flying small planes and delivering live traffic reports in Honolulu and Seattle. He later spent nearly two decades with Worldcast Systems, working on high-impact projects for clients like Sutro Tower, ABC Television, and the NBA. Tony’s work has taken him across the U.S. and around the world, solidifying his reputation as a trusted expert in broadcast engineering.

In March of this year, Tony took the next step in his professional journey by joining LAWO, a German innovator in high-end audio and broadcast console technology. He continues to stay deeply engaged with the industry through regular participation in NAB and SBE events across the country.

Prentis “PL” Laird

Prentis ‘PL’ Laird is the Associate Vice-President of Broadcast Engineering and Operations for Sinclair Broadcast Group. Based in Nashville, TN, he oversees engineering and technical operations for 185 Sinclair owned and/or operated television stations across the US.

PL has been with Sinclair since 2012 and has been part of the Corporate Engineering Team since 2014.  He has been involved in several major initiatives including Master Control and Production Control installations, the spectrum repack, ATSC 3.0 implementation, and most recently the migration of Master Control Operations to the cloud. He has overseen major station construction projects in New Bern, NC and Little Rock, AR.

Originally from New London, TX, PL served 6 years in the US Air Force as a Satellite Communications Technician and is a Desert Storm Veteran.  He was based at Bergstrom AFB (before it became an airport) and for 27 years, he called Austin home.

PL’s broadcast career started in 1992 as an Engineering Technician at KVUE.  For 9 years, he worked for Gulf Link Communications providing mobile satellite uplink services for the major networks including remote production, news gathering and sports backhauls.  From 2004 to 2014, PL worked at KEYE-TV as a Broadcast Engineer where he led many station projects including the transition to HD.

PL enjoys spending time with his family of 3 children and 3 grandkids.  He enjoys outdoor activities and is an avid camper.  He loves to cook; his passion is smoking Texas style BBQ.
