Paul Walters

Rio Steel Tower

Paul Walters is an accomplished Safety and Project Management executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience in telecommunications, broadcast infrastructure, commercial construction, and business operations. Throughout his career, he has successfully managed multimillion-dollar projects, led domestic and international field teams, and earned a reputation for delivering complex initiatives safely, on schedule, and within budget.

As Health and Safety Manager and Senior Project Manager for RIO Steel Tower, Paul oversees tower construction, maintenance, structural modifications, and large-scale telecommunications infrastructure projects while ensuring compliance with the highest industry safety and regulatory standards. His expertise includes project estimating, budgeting, contract administration, procurement, quality assurance, risk management, client relations, and workforce development.

Before transitioning into corporate leadership, Paul spent more than a decade as a successful entrepreneur, owning and operating a construction and remodeling company. He also owned and coached a national-level gymnastics program and served on the United States Gymnastics Board as Head of the Competitive Trampoline and Tumbling Program. In these roles, he developed training programs, managed operations, built high-performing teams, and led organizational growth.

Paul’s unique combination of technical expertise, operational leadership, and unwavering commitment to safety has made him a trusted leader in delivering high-risk, complex projects while fostering a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement.

Today, Paul is a certified industry instructor, training telecommunications professionals in tower safety, climbing, rigging, rescue, and RF safety. He also serves on the NATE–OSHA–FCC Partnership Committee, working alongside industry and government leaders to advance safety initiatives and strengthen industry standards.
