Fred Morton, CSRE

KMGZ-FM

Fred R. Morton, CSRE, is a veteran broadcaster, station owner/operator, and broadcast engineer with more than 50 years of experience in radio and television.

Since receiving his first FCC license in 1968, he has built a distinguished career spanning station ownership, engineering, programming, technical operations, and FCC compliance.

A graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Speech Communication and Broadcasting, Morton is the founder and owner/operator of KMGZ-FM in Lawton, Oklahoma, which he launched in 1982.

KMGZ remains under the same ownership, call letters, and format today — a rare distinction in the broadcast industry.

He also serves as co-owner/operator of KWFB-FM and KXXN-FM in Wichita Falls, Texas, and is the managing partner and 50% owner of KPET-AM in Lamesa, Texas.

Morton holds a Lifetime Certification as a Certified Senior Radio Engineer through the Society of Broadcast Engineers and is active in industry leadership and service, including serving on the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters and as Secretary/Treasurer of SBE Chapter 85 in Central Oklahoma.

Fred is also an Advanced Class amateur radio operator, WB5KRD, and provides consulting services to LPFM station owners and operators.
